The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a notice to carriers identifying the airways to be closed on April 12 to 15 and the other routes that the flights could take.
“We will not allow the usage of the airways from April 12, 5 am (2100 GMT) to April 16, 1 pm (0500 GMT) to coincide with North Korea’s planned rocket launch,” CAAP spokeswoman Joy Songsong said.
“The carriers that would be affected by the diversion are Korean Air, Japan Air, Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Air, Garuda and Philippine Airlines,” she added.
At least 20 flights pass through the affected airways daily, according to aviation authorities..
